Fredericton boxers busy in November and December (2008-01)
The past two months have been active for Fredericton Boxers. After excellent performances at Provincials Fredericton fighters participated in several other events:
The Oromocto card saw Shane Garnier, and Tyler Donovan both score exciting body attack stoppages against their opponents. While Nick Montgomery scored a points victory.
At the Moncton FISTS card Shane Garnier won a UD vs. the speedy Shiloh Staffen, and Amina Hussien had a great fight against a tough PEI boxer. Amanda Boies dominated a rough fight on the same night vs. her American opponent in Searsport Maine. Matt McEwan was let down by a slow start in Maine but more than made up for it the following weekend in Sydney NS.
At the Cape Breton card Tyler Donovan out boxed NS champ Daniel Jessome and Matt McEwan landed power shot after power shot against a very tough Caper. Matt was awarded the UD as well as “fight of the night” honours.
Liza Papazian had a tough draw at Canadian Championships in Richmond BC as she was RSCO’d by a veteran Ontario boxer.
Next up: Canadian Championships in January for Tyler Donovan, Shane Garnier, and Nick Montgomery.
